LOCAL REGGAE ARTIST RELEASING DEBUT SINGLE

Musician Ashton Nicolas Announces Debut Single “FIND ME” Set To Release 1/22/21

January 1, 2021 - Honolulu, HI - ​Oʻahu native “Ashton Nicolas” Obrero is set to release his debut single Find Me​, an original song that honors his island home and his favorite places to be. The track was produced by 2x Grammy-nominated producer Leslie Ludiazo, features guitar virtuoso Guy James, and was mastered by hometown hit-maker Lapana Ieriko. It will be available to stream on all digital platforms worldwide. Ashton Nicolas aspires to create positive music that sparks self-reflection while bringing forth cultural-awareness.

Find Me​ is a catchy island tune that can be heard whilst cruising towards the mountain or the sea. Ashton’s lyrical content provides a glimpse into the day-in-the-life of an islander and is a dedication to the ones who aloha ʻaina (love the land). The reggae rhythm is complemented by bluesy guitar riffs that bring music lovers to a laid-back and mellow mood.

After traveling, Ashton returned home in 2017 and re-introduced himself to the Hawaiian culture. “As a Filipino who was born and raised in Hawaiʻi, I think it’s important for people everywhere to acknowledge and respect their host culture by always striving to learn the ​correct​ history. When I learned about the ahupuaʻa system (resourceful land management from the mountain to the sea), I realized its power to foster community collaboration in a sustainably conscious way. I’ll always intend for my music to relate back to this concept.”

ASHTON NICOLAS​ is a musician, singer-songwriter, producer, entrepreneur, and cultural advocate. He has performed at venues all over Boriken (Puerto Rico) & Oʻahu, from Rincon to Waikiki. He recently attended a cultural exchange for artists in Italy and was also chosen as one of Haku Collective’s “Artists To Watch”. He’s currently pursuing a degree in Music Business & Production at Hawaiʻi’s coveted MELE program and works as a music teacher with a local non-profit called Mana Maoli. Ashton Nicolas’ debut single “Find Me” will be out on 1/22/21 and available on all music listening platforms.
